Zusammenfassung

Szenarien und Modelle sind häufig verwendete Werkzeuge, um die verschiedenen Elemente des Systems Bioökonomie sowie mögliche Entwicklungen in der Zukunft zu beschreiben und hinsichtlich ihrer Auswirkungen auf Gesellschaft, Ökonomie und Umwelt zu analysieren. Szenarien bieten einen methodischen Ansatz zur partizipativen Entwicklung von Zukunftsbildern, sowohl qualitativ in Form von Narrativen als auch quantitativ in Form von numerischen Daten. In diesem Rahmen kommt Modellen eine zentrale Rolle bei der quantitativen Beschreibung der Szenarien zu. Sie können dabei einzelne Elemente der Bioökonomie (bspw. Ökonomie, Landnutzung, Umwelt), aber auch die komplexen Wirkbeziehungen zwischen diesen Elementen abbilden. Es werden Beispiele für die aktuelle Anwendung von Szenarien und Modellen zu Fragen der Gestaltung einer nachhaltigen Bioökonomie vorgestellt sowie Anforderungen an die Weiterentwicklung und Verfeinerung dieser Werkzeuge formuliert.
