The glass fibre subscriber line is frequently associated with the construction of an Integrated Broadband Communication Network (IBCN). In order to develop an introductory strategy for this type of broadband network which is completely to be constructed by means of glass fibre technology, the first step will be to make an analysis of the application optimized sub-networks competing - from our actual point of view - with this network. These are structures developed over the years for narrow- and broadband communication on the basis of already existing sub-networks or for those being prepared.
