The Royal Hospital is a medium sized district hospital. It has 657 beds and provides acute services for the resident population of Plushing and surrounding areas. Its services include Accident and Emergency, General Medicine and Surgery. The hospital has an annual revenue income of £41.5 million and a capital budget of £1 million. This supports 1898 full-time staff. The hospital is in the process of reorganizing itself with the following objectives in view: To increase the number of patients being treated, so as to meet the demands of an increasing local population.To improve and develop the services to meet the special needs of the young, disabled and elderly by providing dedicated facilities and improved clinical environments.To motivate staff by involving those who deliver patient care in all aspects of decision making.To enable staff to feel committed to the hospital and to develop a pride in the services they offer.
