Zusammenfassung

Da immer mehr Freiberufler als digitale Nomaden in der Wissenswirtschaft tätig sind, stellen professionelle Online-Communities wichtige Knotenpunkte dar, über die relevante Informationen schnell zu finden sind. Der vorliegende Beitrag untersucht die Rolle von Online-Communities für den weitgehend unsichtbaren und zunehmend nomadischen Übersetzungsberuf. Insbesondere wird dabei der Frage nach der Konstruktion der beruflichen Identität von Übersetzern durch Aufforderungen an eine Online-Sprachunterstützungsgruppe nachgegangen, die in erster Linie darauf ausgerichtet ist, ihre Mitglieder (Übersetzer, Dolmetscher und Linguisten) bei übersetzungsbezogenen Fragen zu beraten. Anhand eines Korpus von 120 Aufforderungen wird die Verwendung von Aufforderungsstrategien analysiert und die sich daraus ergebenden Aspekte der beruflichen Identität beschrieben. Dabei wird aufgezeigt, dass Übersetzer bestimmte Aufforderungsstrategien wie etwa die Begründung des Aufforderungsakts als eine Taktik verwenden, damit einerseits ihrer Aufforderung nachgekommen und andererseits ein potenzieller Gesichtsverlust vermieden wird. Durch die Verwendung von solchen Strategien werden verschiedene berufliche Identitäten konstruiert.
