Abstract

Das Kapitel "Yonmenkaigi System Method as an Educational Framework for Climate Change Within the United Kingdom: A Pilot Study" befasst sich mit der Anwendung der Yonmenkaigi System Method (YSM) als Bildungsinstrument, um Schüler mit dem Klimawandel vertraut zu machen. Die an der Northumbria University durchgeführte Studie, an der 16 Studenten des ersten Studienjahres im Bereich Umweltmanagement teilnahmen, zielte darauf ab, die Wirksamkeit der Methode bei der Verbesserung des Verständnisses und Bewusstseins für den Klimawandel zu bewerten. Der ursprünglich in Japan entwickelte YSM wurde angepasst, um spezifische Probleme des Klimawandels in Newcastle-upon-Tyne zu lösen. Die Studie ergab, dass der YSM die Planung gemeinsamer Maßnahmen erleichterte und die Wahrnehmung der Schüler für ihre persönliche Verantwortung gegenüber dem Klimawandel erhöhte. Insbesondere förderte die Methode auch ein tieferes Verständnis des multiorganisatorischen Charakters der Eindämmung und Anpassung an den Klimawandel. Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass der YSM eine wertvolle Ergänzung zur Ausbildung zum Klimawandel sein könnte, insbesondere bei der Förderung langfristigen strategischen Denkens unter Studenten.
