Zusammenfassung

Dieser Beitrag analysiert die Bedeutung der Energieressourcen für Kanadas Arktispolitik. Er beruht auf einer Kritik derjenigen wissenschaftlichen Analysen, die die geopolitische Bedeutung der Arktis durch den Ressourcenreichtum begründet sehen. Am Beispiel Kanadas wird gezeigt, wie ungenau diese Verallgemeinerung ist. Dabei werden sowohl innen- wie auch außenpolitische Aspekte beleuchtet und die Verlinkung der beiden politischen Räume in dem Politikfeld Arktispolitik herausgestellt.
