ABSTRACT
The research paper describes the development of a user friendly 3D virtual world. For the research, we modeled building number 3 of the Technological University of Panama, Victor Levi Sasso Campus.
For the virtual world development we consider the use of an avatar, which becomes the user's virtual representation that interacts with certain objects in the virtual world.
The tools and resources used, because they facilitate the interoperability, were the following: Computer Aided Design software (CAD), Computer Aided Architectural Design (CAAD), Virtual Reality Technology, Videogame technology and 3D game engine.

Avatars, characters, players and users: multiple identities at/in play
OzCHI '12: Proceedings of the 24th Australian Computer-Human Interaction ConferenceAvatars are ubiquitous in virtual worlds (VWs). As such, they have become central to how we understand the way they are experienced. Common conceptualisations of the user avatar relationship invoke an identity binary which has influenced discussions of ...

We assess social engagement and spatial exploration in a virtual environment. We examine predictors of user reported immersion in a virtual environment.Social engagement is positively associated with user reported immersion.Spatial exploration is ...
Haptic Vibration for Emotional Expression of Avatar to Enhance the Realism of Virtual Reality
ICCTD '09: Proceedings of the 2009 International Conference on Computer Technology and Development - Volume 02This paper intends to show the importance of haptic vibration to support emotional expression of avatar in virtual reality systems. As we know emotional avatar plays a vital role to improve the degree of realism in virtual reality. Current practice in ...
