ABSTRACT
This case study presents guidelines for creating augmented reality content for an historic museum. Augmented reality (AR) layers a computer-generated graphics (and sound) on top of the view of the real world. The case study revolved around the Banff Park Museum (BPM located in the town of Banff, Canada). The museum's mandate dictates that neither physical space nor its exhibit can be changed. Therefore, the BPM is an interesting candidate for creating AR content without changing the physical space. In this research, a prototype was created to test the feasibility of such an application based on the presented guidelines.
