Abstract

Groundwater is considered a hidden resource and is quantitatively more important than surface water. The growing population demands extensive use of groundwater because of its better quality, easy accessibility and potability with very little or no treatment. Furthermore, groundwater is less vulnerable to contamination as most contaminants are chemically and biologically degraded and diluted before reaching the groundwater table.
