ABSTRACT
Although vibrotactile feedback enlivens virtual interaction, it is difficult to measure actual vibrations of moving objects. Our VibroTracker system achieves this with an optical gaze controller and a laser Doppler vibrometer, enabling users to relive the vibrotactile sensations experienced by others.

TECHTILE toolkit: a prototyping tool for design and education of haptic media
VRIC '12: Proceedings of the 2012 Virtual Reality International ConferenceThere has been many haptic devices proposed so far, but most of them are still in emerging stage. To attract the interest of potential users of haptics such as designers, educators, and students, it is necessary to provide easy-to-make and easy-to-use ...
Augmentation of material property by modulating vibration resulting from tapping
EuroHaptics'12: Proceedings of the 2012 international conference on Haptics: perception, devices, mobility, and communication - Volume Part IWe present a new haptic augmented reality system that modulates the perceived stiffness of a real object by changing the perceived material with vibratory subtraction and addition. Our system consists of a stick with a vibrotactile actuator and a pad ...
Discriminability-based evaluation of transmission capability of tactile transmission systems
Tactile transmission systems deliver tactile information such as texture roughness to operators of robotic systems. Such systems are typically composed of tactile sensors that sense the physical characteristics of textures and tactile displays that ...
