Abstract

In 2012 a co-creation has been established in The Netherlands involving government service providers, academia and innovative businesses to develop a durable architecture for services that are based on laws, decrees or regulations and the specification of a formal language to specify the formal requirements for regulation based services. The authors have been involved in the deliberations how to develop a durable architecture that can be used as a practical guideline in the various discussions how to improve the specification, the design, the production and delivery of regulation based services. It has been observed that the vast majority of these regulation based services are information-intensive and require a substantial IT effort. As regulations change fairly often, it is a requirement to reduce the traditional procedural complexity and introduce a more manageable declarative approach.
