A Simulation of the Gerotor Motor with Cylinder Displacement Variation

Abstract

Characteristics of gerotor motor are what can drive high torque on low speed condition and take small space to install compare with its flow rate. Gerotor motors usually are used in a hydraulic system in the earth moving equipment or specially equipped trucks. A lot of theoretical and numerical analyses has been conducted for gerotor pumps. However, gerotor motor analysis is not easier than similar shaped pumps because connecting shaft between gerotor and shaft of the motor has been driven on eccentric complex moving condition. In this paper, gerotor motor’s performance is investigated with well establised hydraulic cylinder’s motion by varying the same volume as gerotor motor’s inner space changes. A simulation model was established with AMESim software which is well accepted and has renowned reputation for the hydraulic systems.
