According to the missile longitudinal dynamics expressed as the state space matrix form and the defined dynamics coefficient notations, the missile body transfer functions are deduced in detail. Using the thought of pole allocation, a detailed analytical methodology for designing the two-loop acceleration autopilot has been proposed. To get the exact gain crossover frequency of the autopilot, an unconstraint optimization problem is outlined. The design and simulation results show that the two-loop acceleration autopilot can stabilize the missiles with different static margins very well.
