Abstract

Obwohl Geschäftsmodellinnovationen entscheidend für den langfristigen Erfolg von Unternehmen sind, mangelt es im Vergleich zu Produktinnovationen an fundierten, wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen. Dies spiegelt sich auch in einer unzulänglichen Unterstützung in der Praxis wider. In diesem Artikel untersuchen wir systematisch die Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede von Produkt- und Geschäftsmodellinnovationen, um Möglichkeiten für die Übertragung von Erkenntnissen und Best-Practices zu analysieren. Hierzu verdichten wir zentrale Erkenntnisse des Produktinnovationsmanagements in einen Bezugsrahmen für die Analyse von elf aktuellen Geschäftsmodellinnovationen. Daraus leiten wir Hinweise für ein verbessertes Management von Geschäftsmodellinnovationen ab.
