Abstract

As of the end of 2020 China had launched a total of 114 remote sensing satellites. Two of these satellites were procured from the UK and launched on Russian rockets.

The CBERS 3 satellite did not reach orbit. The CBERS 4 was launched within a year of this mishap to provide continuity of coverage. All of them were initially placed in a slightly lower orbit and then maneuvered into the right orbit.
