Abstract
Class struggle in its various forms does not exclusively aim at economic goals. The three forms of class struggle are at the same time three forms of struggle for recognition (in the Hegelian sense). The lower classes and colonial peoples, who for so long were dehumanized and treated as instruments of work, and women, who were long considered to be unfit to plead at least on the political arena, claimed firstly full recognition of their human dignity.
