Abstract

The traditional power system is predominantly fossil-fuel based and has been studied and optimized for about a century to facilitate electrical power generation, transmission and distribution with different degrees of reliability and resilience depending on the constraints pertaining to the region of operation. This conventional power system is unidirectional in nature both in terms of power flow as well as information, i.e. from the generation sources to the loads (predominantly passive loads).
