Automated driving functions have become firmly established in the automotive industry. Particularly parking maneuvers lend themselves comparatively well to automation due to the low velocity and the small operating space. However, to be accepted by the occupants, a passenger car parking function must act confidently and at least as fast as a human driver. IPG Automotive, Kempten University of Applied Sciences, and MdynamiX demonstrate how the in-house developed Vehicle-in-the-Loop method can support the consistent development and evaluation of automated driving functions. …
