Hardware can break. Users can make mistakes. Any one of these reasons and hundreds of others can lead to a loss of data that’s important to you. To protect against the possibility of data loss, you’re going to want some method of creating a copy of your database to store separately for use in the event of an emergency. This is called
backing up
the database.
