Zusammenfassung

Digitale Plattformen schaffen Transparenz, erleichtern Transkationen und stellen oftmals technologische Infrastrukturen bereit. Dadurch können komplementäre Güter und Dienstleistungen angeboten und indirekte Netzwerkeffekte gestärkt werden. Durch die Verbindung unterschiedlicher Plattformen und Akteure entstehen neue, digitale Ökosysteme. Der folgende Beitrag zeigt auf, welchen Wirkmechanismen Plattformen unterliegen, wie plattformbasierte Geschäftsmodelle funktionieren und welche Rolle die Plattformökonomie innerhalb der Silicon Economy spielt.
