The difference in ratio between male and female is caused by genetics. Type D gene is a recessive gene. For men, the genotype of the mother is critical. A man has a 50% chance of color blindness if his mother has this gene. A man has a 100% chance of color blindness if his mother is colorblind. A woman can only be colorblind if her father is colorblind and the mother gives her this particular gene.
