Abstract

The study investigates the in vitro antagonistic activity of five Trichoderma species against Colletotrichum, the causative agent of anthracnose in pecan trees. Through dual-culture assays and evaluation of volatile metabolites, the research demonstrates significant inhibition of mycelial growth, with Trichoderma virens showing the highest efficacy. The findings suggest that these fungi could serve as effective biocontrol agents in integrated disease management strategies for pecan farming.
