Zusammenfassung

Die Automatisierung von Tätigkeiten im Controlling & Rechnungswesen wird seit Jahren in Wissenschaft und Praxis intensiv diskutiert. Mittlerweile hat der Effizienzdruck auf die Finanzorganisation so stark zugenommen, dass die Automatisierung laut Umfragen mittlerweile den Platz 1 auf der CFO-Agenda einnimmt. Eine weitreichende Automatisierung von Prozessen im Controlling & Rechnungswesen scheiterte bislang daran, dass traditionelle Automatisierungstechnologien (z. B. BPMS) aufgrund der dafür notwendigen IT-Kosten meist nur für wenige, zentrale Geschäftsprozesse eingesetzt werden. Prozesse wie das Reporting gehören in der Regel nicht dazu. So überrascht es wenig, dass für die Mehrheit der Unternehmen die manuelle Aufbereitung von Finanzdaten, beispielsweise für die regelmäßige Erstellung von Reports, heute immer noch eine große Rolle spielt.
