Dongfeng is using the electric drive EMR3 made by Vitesco Technologies in its new electric passenger car Yixuan. The axle drive is manufactured in Tianjin in China for the volume market.

Vitesco Technologies has begun producing a fully integrated electric axle drive for the Dongfeng Passenger Car Corporation. The automotive supplier announced that this major contract for the Chinese market is an opportunity for it to continue "the success story of its integrated axle drive EMR3". Production for Hyundai and PSA has been under way since the end of 2019.

Dongfeng Passenger Car Corporation is integrating the axle drive into the new, fully electric model of the electric passenger car Yixuan. This model belongs to the A segment in China, which corresponds to the international C segment standard. At 1.5 tonnes, the Yixuan offers a top speed of 155 km/h and a range of around 400 km based on the NEDC. According to Vitesco Technologies, the version of its axle drive for the Dongfeng Passenger Car Corporation integrates a "powerful electric motor and highly optimised power electronics in a compact and lightweight unit". The Dongfeng Passenger Car Corporation version of the EMR3 provides 120 kW of power and up to 260 Nm of torque, but weighs less than 80 kg.

Vitesco Technologies is manufacturing the electric axle drive in Tianjin in China. The product was developed in Berlin and Nuremberg as well as in Shanghai and Tianjin.
