Abstract

In digital communication the process of coding is employed for the reason of error avoidance. The two stages of error avoidance are error detection and correction. First, the scope of coding is discussed. The philosophy behind the technique of coding is discussed with the help of code sphere. Next, different types of coding techniques are discussed with proper mathematical support and explanation. For most of the cases the design procedures are also discussed.
