Environmental electrical noise is a killer when it comes to wired communications. Through both emission and coupling, communication performance can suffer from dropped data packets or worse, by interfering with surrounding electronics. Even robust technologies like traditional Ethernet can suffer the effects of noise as they are deployed into increasingly harsh environments like automotive and industrial control. Microchip provides a technology which suppress noise and limit sensitivity, opening up Ethernet as a viable communication technology for rugged environments. …
