Abstract

A difference between two fields of application of the method of statistical processing of the results of repeated measurements of an invariant measured quantity, real measurements and when determining and monitoring the characteristics of the error of measuring instruments in the course of metrological tests of the instruments, is demonstrated. Conditions under which independence of the obtained characteristics of an error from the type of distribution density of the random error may be satisfactorily assured are formulated.
