6. Führung auf Distanz und E-Leadership – die Zukunft der Führung?

Zusammenfassung

Die Führung von Mitarbeitern unter Einsatz elektronischer Medien (E-Leadership) gewinnt angesichts steigender Digitalisierung und Globalisierung von Arbeitsprozessen zunehmend an Bedeutung. Neben einer Reihe neuer, positiver Möglichkeiten führt der spezifische Charakter elektronisch vermittelter bzw. „virtueller“ Zusammenarbeit jedoch auch zu ganz eigenen Herausforderungen, die es für eine erfolgreiche Praxis zu beachten gilt. Im Folgenden werden diese Vorteile und Herausforderungen analysiert, und bestehende Führungskonzepte auf ihre Eignung für E-Leadership hin diskutiert. Aufbauend auf diesen Ergebnissen werden spezifische Instrumente des E-Leadership vorgestellt und mit Bezug zu erfolgskritischen Faktoren beschrieben. Abschließend werden anhand eines fiktiven Beispiels aus der Praxis die Ausführungen veranschaulicht sowie ein Ausblick auf zukünftige Entwicklungen im Bereich von E-Leadership gegeben.
