Clinical Engineering promotes actions to strengthen health technology management (HTM), considering the specificities of each phase of the technologies’ life-cycle. This study presents the HTM model associated with other tools and methodologies, in particular Health Technology Assessment (HTA). The model is supported by a base of three domains infrastructure, technology, and human resources to deliver consistent parameters for the evaluation of each phase of the medical equipment life-cycle. From this evaluation, some key impacts can be analyzed and then used to support the health managers in decision-making process. A case study was conducted with the application of this model. The application focused on the incorporation process of the robotic surgery system and this contributed to recommendations to health managers, allowing more quality to the technological processes in health.
