Abstract

Governance is an integral part of any business to run and sustain. In the current situation, when there are a lot of uncertainties in the economy, the business leaders are very much concerned about organizational growth. To deal with this volatile situation, a certain level of flexibility is required in organizational governance. This governance flexibility could be at the organizational level (intra-) or inter-organizational level. To develop and adopt governance flexibility, leadership plays an essential role. The leader’s flexible behaviour can be a significant contributor for developing organizational governance flexibility. The leaders with the flexible behaviour are more adaptive to the various situations. This study is an attempt to explore the role of leader’s behavioural flexibility in intra- and inter-organizational governance flexibility. This is an empirical study; data have been collected from the top executives of various industries. The research analysis results provided new findings to link the gaps between leadership flexibility and organizational governance flexibility literature.
