Abstract

This paper presents an analysis and assessment of Low-Carbon Technologies (LCTs) development need in Vietnam energy sector in the period to 2030. In order to meet LCTs development demand in the foreseeable future, apart from identified internal efforts, Vietnam needs expansion and enhancement of bilateral and multilateral cooperation at regional level to exchange, share information, experience, successful lessons, as well as technology transfer and from which step-by-step establish and develop LCTs market based on background and legality of existing policies on energy efficiency and energy conservation, development of renewable energy and substitute energy and shifting from high carbon fuels to low-carbon fuels, etc.
