In order to optimize the mechanical properties of glass fiber-reinforced PA-6 from the thermoplastic resin transfer molding process, the interface adhesion between reinforcing glass fibers and PA6 matrix has been extensively studied at Volkswagen. This has lead to a concept for functionalizing the glass fiber surface by using a 2-C silane compound, which acts as an in-situ adhesion promoter during the T-RTM process. …
