In previous chapters we have seen several connections between graphs and words distinct from word-representable graphs, the main topic in this book. For instance, we use words to describe graphs when we need to represent them in computer memory. On the other hand, graphs can be used to represent permutations in order to reveal some of their structural properties. The literature contains many more examples of interrelations between words and graphs and we explore some of them in this chapter.
