Abstract

The first part of this chapter describes the background, objectives, and outline of the spilled oil tracking autonomous buoy (SOTAB) project funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science for 5 years since fiscal year 2011. The latter part explains the outlines of the subsequent seven chapters.
