Abstract

The entire electricity system is undergoing a dramatic transformation driven mainly by challenging environmental and economic targets set out by government policies worldwide. It is straightforward that new technical architecture along with different market mechanisms is required in the future scenario that will enable smart grids to accommodate the intermittency and the relevant uncertainty of renewable generation.
