Abstract
The issue of energy balance in buildings is of significant importance nowadays, since conventional energy sources are running out and becoming extremely expensive. In addition to the development of an environmentally friendly design is being a basic requirement for new EU directives, the above mentioned facts are the main reasons behind making the passive design of buildings one of the most crucial and fundamental factors in buildings’ energy savings. Basic environmental design parameters should be carefully implemented in the overall design decisions.
