Abstract
Electromagnetism is a major component of the physics education curricula of high schools, colleges, and universities. However, it is more difficult to understand than the other major component, mechanics. One reason for this difficulty is that the principal variables in electromagnetism, i.e., potentials and fields, cannot be seen directly nor experienced easily, whereas those in mechanics, such as displacement and velocity, can easily be seen and perceived.
