Zusammenfassung

Die Philosophie der Klimawissenschaften ist ein Teilgebiet der Wissenschaftstheorie, das sich mit den Methoden und Grundbegriffen der Klimawissenschaften auseinandersetzt. Ziel dieses Kapitels ist es, eine überblickende Darstellung der wichtigsten Probleme und Fragen in den Klimawissenschaften zu liefern. Nach einführenden Erläuterungen sprechen wir im zweiten Abschnitt über das Problem, Klima zu definieren. Im dritten Abschnitt stellen wir Klimamodelle vor. Im vierten Abschnitt diskutieren wir Probleme des Nachweises und der Zuschreibung von Klimawandel. Im fünften Abschnitt untersuchen wir die Bestätigung von Klimamodellen und die Grenzen der Vorhersagbarkeit. Im sechsten Abschnitt besprechen wir Klassifikationen von Unsicherheit und die Verwendung von Modell-Ensembles. Im siebten Abschnitt fassen wir zusammen und bieten einen Ausblick an.
