Zusammenfassung

Halsschmerzen, Fieber oder ein fieser Schnupfen: Dies sind Erkrankungen, die wir vermutlich alle schon ein‐ oder mehrmals erlebt haben. Auch wenn diese durchaus sehr lästig sein können, sind solche Phasen meist gut zu meistern. Doch wie sieht es mit psychischen Erkrankungen (denken wir zum Beispiel an Depressionen) oder schweren körperlichen Erkrankungen (wie etwa Krebs oder einem Schlaganfall) aus? Wie reagieren Menschen auf solche Ereignisse? Ein wichtiger Begriff, der hierbei ins Spiel kommt, ist das Bewältigungsverhalten, auch Coping genannt.
