The application of LED technology in headlamps is gradually increasing for mid-range cars and across the premium segment it is meanwhile firmly established. Stricter cost structures and lower weight classes of such vehicle categories put pressure on suppliers to optimise overall costs and module weights. If savings are achieved with the process from the beginning, more efforts are required for thermal management afterwards. That is at the expense of system weight and costs.
