Moisture adsorption isotherms of yew wood (Taxus baccata L.)

Abstract

Adsorption isotherm was obtained to assess the hygroscopicity of yew wood using the Hailwood-Horrobin sorption theory. Yew wood showed very low EMC values in the whole range of relative humidities. An interesting point was that the adsorption isotherms of the yew wood were almost identical to that of pine wood modified with 15.8% acetic anhydride.
