Honda Motorcycle plans to launch more than ten new electric two-wheelers by 2025. The Japanese manufacturer aims to sell 3.5 million units of electric motorcycles by 2030.

Honda Motorcycle wants to push ahead with the electrification of its motorized two-wheelers. In line with the increased demand for electric motorcycles for commercial use, Honda has already introduced its Honda e: Business Bike models for the Asian market, which are equipped with replaceable batteries (Honda Mobile Power Pack, MPP). This concept, in addition to a well-developed charging infrastructure and standardized batteries, is expected to accelerate the transition to electric motorcycles.

Between 2024 and 2025, two electric Commuter models are also expected to be launched in Europe. Honda also plans to introduce five electric-powered mopeds in Asia, Europe and Japan by 2024 that will travel no faster than 50 km/h. Three large EV funbikes are also to be launched in Japan, the U.S. and Europe. In the 2040s, the goal of climate neutrality for all motorcycle products is to be achieved.

Introduction of flex-fuel engines

In parallel, Honda will continue to develop its combustion engines in the two-wheeler sector in order to reduce CO2 emissions. For example, flex-fuel models that can be fueled with a gasoline-ethanol fuel mixture will be gradually introduced in the Indian market, analogous to the E100 models already available in Brazil. Initially, flex-fuel (E20) models are to be launched from 2023, followed by flex-fuel (E100) models from 2025.
