Abstract

Germain explains how narcissism manifests itself in leaders and managers—how first impressions progressively morph and reveal interpersonal relationship deficiencies, inflate an individual’s sense of his/her ability to lead, and minimize effectiveness. After highlighting the prominence of NPD in specific fields such as sports, politics, and the media, “Narcissism in Leadership and Management” details the human and financial cost that NPD employees have on organizations.
