Abstract

This is a justification for standardizing the adhesive contact parameters of finished surfaces of end gauges and precision parts in connections with maximal adjoining surface areas. A criterion is proposed for evaluating the mutual positions of surfaces in the nanometer range by contact and contactless measurement techniques. Experimental data demonstrating the ineffectiveness of press fits of cylindrical pieces fabricated with nanometer tolerances are presented, along with data on the properties and features of tapered connections.
