This article introduces the new MTU Series 1600 high-performance diesel engines, which have been designed especially for off-road applications, fulfilling the emission legislation US EPA/CARB Tier 4 without using any exhaust gas aftertreatment. While the release of the twelve-cylinder engine (up to 736 kW) has already been in January 2015, the ten-cylinder engine (up to 610 kW) will be released in the first quarter of 2016. …
