Based on a physical model of SCR, IAV has developed a software to compute the quantity of AdBlue dosed in SCR systems. The low-dimensional SCR model is computed on the control unit and can be continuously checked against the information measured by the downstream NOx sensor using an extended Kalman filter. This results in a closed-loop control of the NH3 filling level in the SCR catalyst with a high degree of robustness to faults in the hardware of the dosing system. …
