The internal combustion engine is currently heavily criticized in the public debate due to the specified climate protection goals as well as persistent air quality challenges in metropolitan areas. Synthetically produced, climate-neutral and low-emission fuels can contribute to climate protection, air pollution control and independence from fossil fuels. OME is a promising alternative to conventional diesel fuel. The Technical University of Darmstadt is testing the use of OME in a wide variety of test setups. For the investigation of OME under real driving conditions a research vehicle was realized. …
