At the end of this year, Gunnar Herrmann will take over as CEO of Ford-Werke GmbH. He is the successor to Bernhard Mattes, who has been Head of Ford in Germany since 2002. Under Mattes’ leadership, the company restructured its network of dealers and developed its commercial vehicle strategy. Since 2012, Gunnar Herrmann has been a member of the board of Ford Europe and Vice President for Quality in Europe. He has a degree in automotive engineering and began his career in 1986 in the bodywork design department at the John Andrews development centre in the Merkenich district of Cologne in Germany. After working in the USA, he returned to Germany in 1994 where he managed a variety of vehicle projects. From 2002 onwards, he was Development Director with responsibility for Ford’s global C-segment models. …
