Abstract

A micro turbine-based biogas power plant has been generating electricity in Purulia in West Bengal, India since 2007. The present study reports on technical performance of the Purulia biogas power plant for the period since the inception of operation. The performance analysis revealed less than acceptable operational standard of the power project. The reasons behind low power generation rate were identified, and recommendations made to improve the efficiency of the power plant.
