With extensive experience in both the education and corporate sectors, and as founding partner of the Carl Benz Academy (CBA), the author reflects on the path of Woodbury University’s School of Business in attaining international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The article looks at the role that Woodbury’s participation in the CBA played in its accreditation and at the specific requirements of the AACSB standards. An overview of key standards incorporated in the accreditation process is provided, including strategic management standards, student / participant standards and learning standards. Finally, the author reflects on the outcomes of the School’s involvement in the CBA pilot program, in the context of the AACSB standards.
